About the Team
Rachel Thomas-Murphy, Interior Designer and owner. Rachel was born in Kansas City but raised in McKinney, TX. In fact, even though she currently resides in Wichita, KS, part of her heart still lives in the South. In 2006, she began working at a local high-end furniture store and graduated from the Art Institute in 2008 with a B.S. in Interior Design. She has had the pleasure of interning and working as an interior designer at GLMV architectural firm, Cessna Aircraft, and Koch Business Solutions. In 2012, she officially opened Thomas Grey Interiors. Rachel is a single mom to three super cool kids and two ornery cats. Brynn, Jackson, and Ella are her driving forces for success. She believes that being a mother has been her life’s single greatest gift.
Sid Washburn, Project Manager. Sid Washburn has always had a passion for the creative arts. She attended Ft.Hays and Washburn Universities working toward her Fine Arts degree. After school, she used her creative skills working at a local interior design firm, she then made a course change and studied Graphic Design at a time when the design softwares were burgeoning in to the business world. She used all her creative and design skills to have 29 year career. Sid retired for a short time and then joined Thomas Grey Interiors in 2017 where she is a project manager and does all their 3D renderings.
Brynn Alloway, Jr. Interior Designer. Brynn graduated from the CIDA Accredited Interior Design program at Kansas State University. The program at Kansas State applauds problem solving, creative thinking, and risk taking, which have been instilled in her since day one. During her time in the program, she acquired a set of skills that she is excited to put to use in the future. She’s proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. Hand sketching, space planning, and conceptual development are her three biggest strengths throughout the design process. Conceptual design and hand sketching are her favorite elements of design because she believes that it creates a bridge between the clients ideals and how the designer chooses to implement product into the space.
