Rachel Murphy, Interior Designer
Let’s Talk Aesthetic Style
In a world gone gray, we love color. Light and bright is our favorite. Luscious, velvety fabrics are our go to feels. Spaces meant to be lived in and loved on is our mantra. After you finish collaborating with our amazing interior design team, your space will fit your family better. We all deserve a space that helps us recharge and relax, and our customized design services can help to create unique spaces for any family, whether you are a home builder or a home owner.
Rachel Thomas-Murphy was raised in McKinney, TX. In fact, even though she currently resides in Wichita, KS, part of her heart still lives in the South. In 2006, she began working at a local high-end furniture store and graduated from the Art Institute in 2008 with a B.S. in Interior Design. She has had the pleasure of interning and working as an interior designer at GLMV architectural firm, Cessna Aircraft, and Koch Business Solutions. In 2012, she officially opened Thomas Grey Interiors.
In 2017, Thomas Grey Interiors created a civic initiative affectionately called the “Passion Project”. This year, we focused on a local non-profit that shelters victims of domestic abuse. We believe that every man, woman, and child deserves a space where they feel safe. With the help of our amazing business partners, we were able to donate over $10,000 in goods and services to the shelter. We fell in love so much with the shelter that we hope to remain involved for years to come. We are always on the look out for non-profits that need our help. If you or someone you know is interested in being our next “Passion Project”, email us and let’s chat about your space!
Rachel is a single mom to three super cool kids and one ornery cat. Brynn, Jackson, and Ella are her driving forces for success. She believes that being a mother has been her life’s single greatest gift. In addition to being a mother, she also enjoys being active. She has competed in several 5k’s, half- marathons, a full marathon, numerous triathlons, and was invited to compete in Nationals for an Olympic distance triathlon in August 2017. Her goal in 2018 is to train and compete in a 70.3 Ironman race. Rachel is also a lover of training and education. In 2017, she was selected as a local “Emerging Leader”, completed the “Streetwise MBA” course through the SBA, and was granted a scholarship to participate in Advance Kansas Class X.
