About the Team

Rachel Thomas-Murphy, Interior Designer and owner.  Rachel was born in Kansas City but raised in McKinney, TX. In fact, even though she currently resides in Wichita, KS, part of her heart still lives in the South. In 2006, she began working at a local high-end furniture store and graduated from the Art Institute in 2008 with a B.S. in Interior Design. She has had the pleasure of interning and working as an interior designer at GLMV architectural firm, Cessna Aircraft, and Koch Business Solutions. In 2012, she officially opened Thomas Grey Interiors. Rachel is a single mom to three super cool kids and two ornery cats. Brynn, Jackson, and Ella are her driving forces for success. She believes that being a mother has been her life’s single greatest gift.

Lisa Schroeder, Senior interior designer. Lisa has over 18 years’ experience in many facets of design including but not limited to space planning, commercial interiors, municipal, financial, healthcare, multi-unit development, and residential design.  She graduated from Kansas State University in 2004 and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.  Her passion for design stems from wanting to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for end users while maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient space.  When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay and 4 kids, Kade, Kale, Blane, and Lilly.

Becky McBee, Interior Designer.

Mary Bontrager, Interior Stylist. Mary worked as a cabinet designer for 2 years before joining our team. She is focused on the residential side of Thomas Grey, putting most of her time into remodels. Her favorite part about the job is bringing people’s ideas and personalities to life and incorporating them into their personal spaces. Mary is currently working towards a degree at Wichita State. Some of her favorite things in life are cooking, traveling, gardening, her 2 puppies, and her new husband.
